In 2018 I took part in a hashtag called #theunreadshelfproject, by Whitney from @theunreadshelf on Instagram. This year I’m going to continue my journey through my TBR – I still have about 70 books left!
Here it is, the last update on my progress on #theunreadshelfproject of 2018! If I may say so myself, I think it went quite well. I still bought and received some books, but I still made a big dent in my TBR!
Although you guys see a book haul pop up on my blog at least once a month, I’m still on a book buying ban. The main focus of my book buying ban was to read more books than I bought. I have to say: it’s going great so far!
At the start of this year I made myself the promise, a New Year’s resolution if you will, to buy less books and eventually read all the books on my TBR. My TBR consists only of books I own, on my ereader or on my physical shelves. Since we’re now halfway through the year I though it’d be fun to look at how many books I have purchased and my progress overall!
In my bookish New Year’s resolutions of 2018 you could read that I’m now really devoted to diminishing the amount of books on my TBR. With all the books that aren’t on Goodreads, I now own about 130 unread books. Of course, it’s nice to know that if there was to be an apocalypse and I couldn’t leave my house for whatever reason, at least I wouldn’t be without a new book for a year! On the other hand, why buying all those books – or actually, hoard – if I don’t actually read them?! That’s why I was determined to put myself on a book buying ban until I’ve read a good amount of books on my TBR!
