May 2019 book haul #2

Processed with MOLDIV

Sometimes I really don’t think I’ll ever make it to having less than 70 books on my TBR 😅 This week I added yet another three books to it: two review copies and one book that came in a thriller book subscription!

Physical books

The Reunion by Guillaume Musso (NL: Het meisje en de nacht)
The US debut of France’s #1 bestselling novelist, a thriller about a glamorous girl that goes missing in the South of France

A prestigious campus frozen in the snow
Three friends linked by a tragic secret
One girl taken by the night

The Côte d’Azur – Winter 1992
One freezing night, as her campus is paralyzed by a snowstorm, 19-year-old Vinca Rockwell, the most beautiful and glamorous girl in her prep school, runs away with her philosophy teacher, with whom she has been conducting a secret affair. For Vinca, “love is everything or nothing.”

She will never be seen again.

The Côte d’Azur – Spring 2017
Once inseparable, Manon, Thomas and Maxime — Vinca’s best friends — have not spoken since graduation. They meet again at their reunion. Twenty-five years earlier, under terrible circumstances, the three of them committed a murder and buried the bodyin the gymnasium wall, the same wall that is about to be demolished to make way for an ultramodern new building.

What really happened that long-ago winter night? Now nothing stands in the way of the truth coming out.
From France’s #1 bestselling author, Guillaume Musso, Night and the Maiden is a taut and suspenseful thriller that will keep readers riveted until its haunting final page.

Solving Cadence Moore by Gregory Sterner
How much will one man risk to solve the unsolvable?

Ten years ago, famous young singer Cadence Moore disappeared without a trace on a remote highway in western Pennsylvania. To this day her fate remains unknown. Was she kidnapped or murdered? Or did she simply run away in search of a new life, leaving behind the abuse and heartbreak that haunted her?

Charlie Marx, host of the popular conspiracy radio show “Underground Broadcast,” is obsessed with Cadence. Desperate to find her after deceiving his boss to save his job, he launches an investigation of his own, digging deep into the missing woman’s past and uncovering her darkest secrets. Working feverishly for weeks, he claims to have solved the mystery and promises to reveal Cadence’s fate at the end of a groundbreaking podcast series and live radio special.

But is it all a lie? As years of twisted details slowly unravel, Charlie races to solve the biggest mystery of the decade. If he succeeds, it will mean closure for Cadence. If he fails, his entire world will come crashing down live on air–and the truth may be lost forever.

Have you bought any new books this week?

  1. I bought books on Friday when I was in Dublin… So no book buying for me this week (yet). 😉

I don’t think I’ll ever get my TBR anywhere near 70, hahaha. But there are so many that I’ve had on my TBR for so long that I should really get rid of them if I’m no longer interested.
