After trying to forget about her ex-lover Sam Bradshaw, Lizzy Thompson is looking for real love. To be able to find this, without getting distracted by appearances, she uses a service to talk to people from her home town anonymously. When she thinks she’s found the one, they decide to take it a step further and finally meet in real life. This is also where everything goes wrong and Lizzy falls from one problem into another.
I thought Something Reckless was a good story, with some nice twists here and there. Somehow, though, I just didn’t feel a connection with Lizzy. Not at all. I thought she was quite superficial when it comes to finding love. Yes, she wants to find something real, but instead she can’t let go of judging men by their looks and what they are like in bed. That’s really all that counts! In my opinion, “real” love isn’t about sex at all, but that’s just me I guess. Let’s just say that I wouldn’t want to be her friend, based on her thoughts and actions. Sam, however, I liked! He appeared to be a man that would do anything for the ones he loves. Even if the ones he loves aren’t getting along.
Like I said earlier in this review, there were some nice twists. These and especially the ending made me buy the sequel, Something Real, right after I finished reading this one!
Somehow with contemporary romance I almost always like the guy more than the girl. It’s so weird!

Yes me too! The girls can just be so … dramatic 🙈

I don’t think I’ve heard of this author before! Is the book first-person POV? I can sometimes be more forgiving of annoying characters that way because we get into their head so much. 😂

Yes it’s first POV, but that didn’t make me like Lizzy better unfortunately 🙈🙈
