An assassin’s loyalties are always in doubt but her heart never wavers

Assassin Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become the King’s Champion. But she is far from loyal to the crown. Though she hides her secret vigilantly, her deadly charade becomes difficult when she realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. No one is above questioning her allegiance—not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a foreign princess with a rebel heart.

Then, one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena’s world shatters, she will be forced to decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie … and whom she is willing to fight for.

When I posted on instagram that I was reading Throne of Glass, a lot of people said that Crown of Midnight was even better. Although I absolutely loved it, I didn’t like it as much as Throne of Glass. One of my problems with series is that the fictional world gets bigger and bigger and more and more characters will be introduced. A lot was happening in Crown of Midnight that I’m confusing some of the events with the events in Throne of Glass. After I finished it, I couldn’t really recall what happened in this second book – just because a lot happened, if you know what I mean!

This all doesn’t take away the love I already have for this series. Like I said in my review on ToG: I love Maas’s worlds. They’re built so well and the characters are all so great! Which makes reading such series even harder, because you just don’t know what’s going to happen to your beloved characters! Crown of Midnight was, unlike Throne of Glass, full of emotion. In the first book you get to know the characters, and in this book you can only wait and see what’s going to happen to them. I was reading some chapters with my chin on the floor!

From the hints I got at the end of CoM I think I’m up for a whole new cast of characters in Heir of Fire. I can’t wait to meet them all!
