Murder in the Mountains is the first book in the Rocky Mountain Cozy Mystery series. If you like fast paced mysteries with a touch of romance, you’re gonna love Murder in the Mountains.
Because this story was only 160 pages long, this will be a very short review!
First of all, I really liked the setting – a cozy lodge in the snowy mountains. I think this is the perfect setting for a murder mystery. There are many people gathered at the same spot, so anyone could’ve done it really! However, I found that the story was focused too much on the two main character’s confusing love story. Were they a couple or were they not? It really seemed like they were only fooling around and that Jennifer was only using Clint so that he would help her solve the case.
The solution to the murder case was one that I didn’t see coming, but I think that was mainly because I didn’t really care that much for the story. There were some interesting bits, but afterwards I have quite a hard time remembering what all the 160 pages were filled with … It was good, but it could’ve been less focused on love and more on the actual murder case.
